Shifton Launches Invoicing and Customer Portal for Field Service

Shifton, a field service management platform used by service companies worldwide and available in 40+ languages, has released two new modules: Invoicing and Customer Portal. Both are available now as add-on modules for all accounts.
The release targets a persistent pain point in field service operations — the gap between completing work on site and closing the financial loop. Technicians finish jobs, but invoices get delayed by days of manual processing, and customers are left calling the office for status updates. These two modules eliminate both bottlenecks.
Invoicing Module: Automated Billing Tied to Job Data
The new invoicing module generates bills directly from completed job forms. Labor hours, materials, travel charges, and custom line items are pulled automatically — no re-entry required. Dispatchers or technicians can review, adjust, and send a professional invoice before leaving the job site.
Core capabilities:
- Auto-populated invoices from completed job data — labor, materials, signatures
- Editable line items for on-site scope changes
- Branded templates with auto-filled company and client details
- Full document lifecycle — quotes, work orders, invoices, completion acts
- Payment status tracking with overdue alerts
Customer Portal: Real-Time Visibility for Clients
The customer portal gives end clients a branded, self-service interface where they can track job status live, see technician location and arrival time, and receive automated notifications — without picking up the phone.
Core capabilities:
- Automated visit notifications — clients know when to expect the technician
- Live technician tracking with map link and estimated arrival time
- Direct contact — chat or call the assigned technician from the tracking page
- Post-service feedback — automatic review request after job completion
Integrated by Design
Both modules operate within the same platform that handles dispatching, scheduling, GPS tracking, digital job forms, and workforce reporting. There is no data transfer between systems — a technician completes a form on site, the invoice is generated, the customer sees it in their portal, and payment terms begin. Zero manual steps in between.
"Service companies told us they wanted billing and client communication inside the same tool they already use for dispatch," said the Shifton product team. "Adding separate software for invoicing or client updates created more problems than it solved. These modules close that loop natively."
Availability
Both modules are available as add-ons for all Shifton Service plans. Existing customers can activate them from their account dashboard and start with a free trial. New users can explore the full platform — including scheduling, dispatch, mobile app, GPS tracking, reporting, invoicing, and customer portal — through a free trial.
